Date:5/5/2009

SPRINGFIELD, Mo., May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Bates County Memorial Hospital (BCMH), a 60-bed acute hospital located in Butler, MO has selected the MedGenix financial and patient management system. The MedGenix system will provide the hospital with patient access, revenue cycle management and financial accounting modules.

The MedGenix healthcare information system is offered by Creative Healthcare Systems (CHS), based in Springfield, MO. Founded in 1992, CHS' MedGenix financial and clinical information software is used by hospitals in six states (MO, KS, MS, IN, OK and GA). The MedGenix suite of products uses an advanced relational database, Web-browser and thin-client workstations. MedGenix products feature multi-facility capabilities and can be deployed on a local network server or over a secure VPN.

Bates County Memorial Hospital offers a wide range of services including a 24-hour physician staffed emergency department, in-patient and out-patient surgery, extensive outpatient specialty clinics and a physician staff representing a broad cross-section of specialty areas.

Wendell Harris, CEO, FACHE of BCMH, noted, "We needed to replace our financial information system and we wanted a vendor who had a proven track record in serving community hospitals. In addition, the MedGenix system uses Web-based thin client technology and will be fully integrated with our new electronic medical record system."

Steve Everest, President of CHS, said, "We're pleased to add Bates County Memorial and are confident that more community hospitals will be selecting MedGenix. Our financial systems are easy to use, scalable and supported by our 17-year track record of providing support services. They are a perfect fit for community and rural hospitals seeking to meet the new federal mandates for electronic records."

Based in Springfield, MO, CHS offers the MedGenix system, which includes financial and patient management software modules, as well as configuration, training, and support services. The MedGenix centralized computing model promotes data sharing, accurate reporting, and simplified administration. The system is easy to use, and can scale to accommodate growth and change. CHS also offers application software development and network design, deployment and support. CHS specializes in serving community hospitals, rural health clinics, long term care facilities, medical groups and organizations participating in a community health information network.
