MedAmerica Reports Solid Growth, Outperforms Industry

ROCHESTER, N.Y., June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- MedAmerica reports 2007 was its 17th consecutive year of growth and positive operating results. In addition, MedAmerica outperformed the long-term care insurance industry for the last five years with a compound annual sales rate of 10%. (LIMRA 2007)

MedAmerica Insurance Company of New York (Home Office: Rochester, NY), MedAmerica Insurance Company (Home Office: Pittsburgh, PA), and MedAmerica Insurance Company of Florida (Home Office: Winter Park, FL) are the long-term care insurance subsidiaries of Lifetime Healthcare, headquartered in Rochester, N.Y. In combined financial statements, The MedAmerica Companies reported that:
-- Assets increased by 12.5% to $983 million

-- Premium revenue increased 6.1% to $134.2 million

-- In-force policies increased to over 116,000

In addition to solid financial performance, 2007 marked the launch of MedAmerica's Simplicity ii(SM) cash long-term care insurance, which is the highest independently-rated long term care policy being sold in the U.S.*
