The Compassionate Caregivers of Massachusetts are a Massachusetts based organization actively recruiting Massachusetts medical marijuana caregivers into their network, in an effort to provide qualifying patients with safe and affordable medical marijuana.
New laws enacted by the Massachusetts legislature allow citizens to apply for a caregiver license and supply patients unable to travel to dispensaries or who cannot afford the meds there. As of today, the laws are still unclear on the plant counts allowed, amounts of meds on hand and other specifics (http://www.wcvb.com/health/Medical-marijuana-Massachusetts-law-what-you-need-to-know/-/9848730/18590854/-/13wende/-/index.html). The Compassionate Caregivers of Massachusetts (CCMA) will be keeping their members and forum users up to date on laws as they become available. The community at large is encouraged to share what they know with everyone.
In the nearby state of Maine, for example, in order for a caregiver to qualify for a license they must pay a State licensing fee of $300 per patient, which allows for them to grow and sell up to 2.5 ounces every 15 days to their designated patient. Both patient and caregiver must have documentation on hand in preparation of any state audit (http://www.maine.gov/legis/lawlib/medmarij.html). "At CCM (Compassionate Caregivers of Maine) we are educating both patients and caregivers on how to utilize our database to assure they are in compliance with state laws," said Patrick Sullivan, CCM President. "Our website acts as a state of the art system for storing client information, keeping it safe through heavy security features, and readily available for our patients and caregivers when needed for compliancy report requests from the state."
CCMA will be providing their medical caregivers with a comprehensive suite of industry related services. Their goal is to make compliance with the state, accounting, book keeping, networking with other caregivers, ongoing education and consulting as easy as possible for their members. Compassionate Caregivers of Massachusetts will essentially be the premier trade association for this new and robust caregiving industry. There will be a monthly association fee, but the benefits of joining the group are tremendous.
