Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center Retains B. E. Smith to Recruit New CFO

B. E. Smith, the only full-service leadership solutions firm dedicated exclusively to healthcare providers, has been retained to lead a national chief financial officer search for Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center (MMSC) in Marshalltown, Iowa. One of the top executive search firms in the healthcare industry, B. E. Smith has recently placed more than 900 healthcare executives into organizations.

MMSC is a 125-bed, not-for-profit facility serving more than 60,000 residents with a wide variety of healthcare services. This financially strong organization boasts a state-of-the-art Diagnostic Imaging Department, Cardiac Catheterization Lab and Rehabilitation Center. It is home to approximately 700 healthcare professionals and also operates four primary care clinics in Marshalltown, Conrad, State Center and Toledo, Iowa. MMSC is planning a phased replacement of multiple sites including inpatient areas, medical office buildings and new clinics.

The chief financial officer will lead all finance operations for this successful hospital while also providing oversight for facilities, purchasing, environmental services, nutrition services and information technology. The new CFO will partner with a strong senior leadership team to evaluate, plan and continuously improve financial functions. Additionally, they will design and implement metrics reporting throughout the organization detailing productivity and labor benchmarks.
