Marriott Hotels in Paris Raise Funds for AFM Telethon 2009

Marriott's Corporate Social Responsibility program supports France's AFM Telethon 2009. The 10 Marriott, Renaissance and Courtyard hotels in Paris are organising fund raising activities to help the AFM (French Muscular Dystrophy Association) fight neuromuscular diseases.

Paris, France (PRWEB) November 19, 2009 -- For the third consecutive year, Marriott's 10 hotels in Paris have joined the fight against neuromuscular diseases by raising funds for the AFM Telethon in France. The event will take place on the 4th and 5th December 2009 with the goal of generating donations to support the AFM's research programs and services for people with neuromuscular diseases and to inform the general public about rare genetic disorders.


Since the first Telethon in 1987, the AFM has invested in research into gene-based therapies which are the best hope for curing thousands of currently incurable diseases, whether they are genetic diseases, like most neuromuscular diseases, or rare or even common diseases.

Marriott International has a long history of social responsibility and community engagement embodied by its 'Spirit to Serve our Communities' Corporate Social Responsibility program. The 10 Marriott, Renaissance and Courtyard hotels in Paris, France have a Business Council that meets regularly to set up various charitable, social and environmental activities throughout the year, and the current focus is to raise funds for the AFM Telethon 2009. After raising 4'291 in 2007 and 5'692 in 2008, Marriott International in Paris aims to reach an even higher number this year to help
