Marietta Smiles Now Offers Same Day Dental Crowns Using CEREC Technology

Marietta Smiles has recently invested in CEREC technology to improve the restorative aspect of their dental care. Using CEREC, Dr. Sunil Singh and his team can design and create quality dental crowns in just one office visit. Families in Marietta can expect an exceptional dental experience when they choose Marietta Smiles. The modern dental practice is dedicated to using the latest dental technology and methods to give patients comfortable, convenient and quality dental care.

Traditional dental crowns are made in an off-site dental laboratory from impressions made from the affected tooth. This process can take a few visits to the dentist; an impression must be made of the tooth, a temporary crown must be placed and adjustments may be needed once the crown arrives from the dental lab. CEREC compresses this process into one visit, without the discomfort or inconvenience of impressions and temporary crowns.

Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, or CEREC, uses advanced imaging and on-site ceramic milling to create a new dental crown in about one hour. The team at Marietta Smiles uses the CEREC CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) to take a digital, 3D image of the tooth. A ceramic tooth that is color-matched to the patient’s smile is milled on-site, then fitted and adjusted for optimal patient comfort. No messy impressions or temporary crowns are needed, allowing Dr. Singh and his team to complete the entire process in a single visit.

“We always strive to improve patient convenience without sacrificing the quality of their treatment. Adding CEREC technology is just one more way we can accomplish that,” says Dr. Singh of Marietta Smiles.

Marietta Smiles provides general, cosmetic, restorative and sedation dentistry, as well as orthodontic options. Adding CEREC technology enhances their ability to give their patients excellent, efficient dental care in a comfortable, relaxing environment.
