Date:11/30/2007

WHEATON, Ill., Nov. 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The United States Golf Association (USGA) awarded a $20,000 matching grant to Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton, Illinois, to support Marianjoy's Therapeutic Golf Program and the creation of a golf program at Marianjoy for children with disabilities.

"For over 10 years, the USGA has supported programs that bring the game of golf to persons with disabilities," said Ed Stevenson, a PGA Golf Pro who leads the Winter Therapeutic Golf Clinics at Marianjoy. "It's fantastic that the USGA is supporting Marianjoy in their efforts to share the game of golf with both adults and children with disabilities."

"Marianjoy's Therapeutic Golf programs make a tremendous impact on the adults who participate," said Tracy Ekstrom, CTRS, Coordinator of the Marianjoy Therapeutic Golf Program, "and our Pros and therapists are excited to include children into our program. With proper training and adaptations, most children and adults with disabilities can play golf throughout their lives."

In order to receive the entire USGA grant award, the Marianjoy Therapeutic Golf Program must receive $20,000 in donations from individuals or organizations. Anyone interested in supporting Marianjoy's Golf program can send a check made out to Marianjoy to the Therapeutic Golf Program, Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital, 26W171 Roosevelt Road, Wheaton, IL 60187 or call (630) 909-7513 with your credit card information or to request more information.
