LAKE ARROWHEAD, Calif., May 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Managed Pharmacy Care, Inc., is stepping forth not just for the independent pharmacists it represents but the general public in several matters of emerging importance.

Not only has MPC successfully halted mandatory mail order programs in various counties, but it is pleased to serve as a resource for reporters and others investigating yet another health-care crisis striking our country. Started in 1991 by a group of independent pharmacists in order to appear as a "chain store" for health plan contracting purposes, Managed Pharmacy Care, Inc. has grown to serve members in 35 states with a variety of services.

MPC and the third party contracting network RxPR1DE, LLC, offers members more than 2,000 health plans. RxPR1DE, LLC also reimburses pharmacists millions per month through a secured FDIC insured fiduciary accounting system. RxPR1DE, LLC offers a Pricing Protection program whereby pharmacists are notified of substandard drug pricing by a particular health plan.

MPC has supported the Medicaid Defense Fund (MDF) in stopping the State of California from initiating a 10-percent Medi-Cal reimbursement cut in September and another 5-percent rate cut in March 2009.
