For decades primary care physicians have known about the symptoms of menopause in women. Today women are able to be diagnosed and treated with hormone replacement therapy as needed. Shifts in hormone levels in men have not received the same attention by primary care physicians and family doctors. It is only in recent years that consideration has been given to decreased testosterone levels in men, the leading indicator of andropause (male menopause).
