Making New Year's Resolution Today is Key to 2010 Weight Loss & Dieting Success

Make your New Year's Resolution today, at least one week before January 1st, to enhance your weight loss success for 2010. So says Australian weight loss and dieting researcher, Mr Trevor Johnson. With an epidemic of obesity and overweight particularly in the western world, it is a sad fact that most new year's weight loss resolutions fail within the first week. The primary cause of the failure is a failure to plan.

(PRWEB) December 22, 2009 -- Make your New Year's Resolution today, at least one week before January 1st, to enhance your weight loss success for 2010. So says Australian weight loss and dieting researcher, Mr Trevor Johnson.

Weight loss is one of the single most common New Year's Resolutions made throughout the world each year. With an epidemic of obesity and overweight particularly in the western world, it is a sad fact that most of these New Year's Resolutions made each year fail very early in the new year. The primary cause of that failure is a failure to plan.

Mr. Johnson says that people who wait until New Year's Day to think about making a resolution will not have properly prepared themselves psychologically to follow through with their decision. An impulsive, unplanned resolution is doomed to failure, he says. Such resolutions tend to be broken within the first week of the new year.

The key to a successful weight loss resolution is prior planning. Preparing one self mentally is a significant part of success. Setting a future starting date and then planning towards it ensures a dramatically increased chance of success. Preparations go beyond just mental, says Mr Johnson, to include choosing a diet plan and/or exercise plan and clearing out your kitchen of temptations and hinderances.
