Make a Difference This Labor Day: Buy Local
Date:9/2/2013

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) September 02, 2013

Sept 2, 2013 marks The Futon Shop’s dedication in bringing 37 years of employing American communities this Labor Day. The Largest Futon Mattress Manufacturer, based in San Francisco, is a strong contributor in their community’s mission to employ their residents.

In honor of Labor Day, The United States of America celebrates every First Monday in September. It was created for the labor movement surrounding the social and economical achievements of American Workers. The Futon Shop, a local American made business not only hires employees in their own neighborhoods, but in doing so promotes sustaining their local community and decreases environmental toxins and carbon footprint because of the use of local sources.

Not only does The Futon Shop manufacture all their futon mattresses and bedding in San Francisco, but they are locally owned. The Futon Shop also opens their doors for the local neighborhood to come in and vote. Being a local company creates more jobs for the community and at the same time stands by their mission to create an Eco-Consciousness to work toward a healthy environment and most importantly a chemical free home. The Futon Shop is always growing and learning new ways to purchase from vendors and manufacture products with their customer’s well being in mind. Only the best organic and eco-friendly ingredients go into their futon mattress.

The programs The Futon Shop found to be a great source for finding employees has been the Staff of Swords to Plowshares and most recently the Goodwill Program.

Both programs are based in Northern California. The Staff of Swords to Plowshares was used a few years ago. The mission was to employ citizens in the Bay Area with challenges. Many of the labor communities coming from this program were military veterans transitioning from military service to civilian communities.

The most recent program implemented into their employee program is the Goodwill program. The Goodwill Transitions SF, is a program that helps San Francisco residents' transition into a new job, but with assistance from employers to help the members learn and develop new skills and at the same time use Goodwill with free access to professional development training programs for employees temporary to permanent staffing potential.

Such programs have been helpful for San Francisco residents and have been more than meaningful and effective for locally run companies in America.

The Futon Shop, an American Manufacturer and futon mattress retailer, has been a willing and active participant in the process of bringing American communities jobs in their own neighborhood.
