MacGregor & Collins, LLP Releases New California DUI Infographic

The criminal defense law firm of MacGregor & Collins, LLP has just launched a new DUI statistics infographic designed to provide California residents with useful information. The infographic, titled “California DUI Statistics” includes a wide variety of interesting data including DUI arrests by race, age, county, and sex.

Providing information about DUI arrests and convictions is not new for MacGregor & Collins attorneys. A large portion of the clients that seek assistance from their firm due so as the result of drunk driving incidences. “Our firm has provided countless free DUI consultations and we feel that each one has benefited the inquirer. We see the distribution of this infographic as an extension of our free consultation,” said Attorney Collins.

According to California’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS), 16,884 people were injured and 972 lost their lives in alcohol related collisions within California in 2010. The infographic provided by MacGregor & Collins, LLP takes an in-depth look at how DUI convictions and arrests are distributed throughout California counties and pinpoints the offenders.

According to the infographic, Los Angeles County is the site of the vast majority of DUI arrests. San Diego came in second, but Los Angeles had twice as many. Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside, and Sacramento followed suit. The infographic also exposes men as being far more likely to be arrested for driving while intoxicated. In California, men account for 78% of those arrested for DUI while women were only 22%.

Californian’s who are arrested for driving while intoxicated may be subject to six months in jail, fines and penalties exceeding $2,000.00, as well as a suspended license. MacGregor & Collins, LLP has al
