Along with providing greater redundancy and high availability, the upgrade will increase simultaneous call volume capability by 300%. Prior to the upgrade, MTM processed approximately 1.2 million calls per year. As a transportation broker, MTM arranges transportation (3.4 million trips per year) for the frail, elderly, intellectually disabled, and transportation disadvantaged throughout its national service area, which includes 26 states and the District of Columbia.

Working with Calence/Insight Networking and Cisco Systems to increase performance and scalability, the upgrade was completed earlier this month. "The upgrade essentially replaced the previous telephony backbone, created significant redundancy, and provided systematic quality monitoring tools." said Maciá. "We sought the upgrade to support the present and future needs of our customer service centers. We continually look for ways to increase productivity, improve customer service, and reduce costs. This upgrade to our telephony backbone accomplishes all of these goals"
