MSC Acquires Optimal Translation & Transportation
Date:3/31/2009

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., March 31 /PRNewswire/ -- MSC Care Management, the industry's leading provider of medical products and services to post-discharge and post-injury workers' compensation claimants nationwide, announced today that it has acquired Optimal Translation & Transportation, a national company also focused on the workers' compensation industry. The acquisition further fortifies MSC's position in the market, providing specialized workers' compensation services in four core areas: Transportation & Translation Services, Catastrophic & Home Health Services, Equipment & Device Management and Select Diagnostic & Imaging Solutions.

"We are passionate about growing and strengthening our core service offerings, specifically into the Transportation & Translation market," said Joe Delaney, MSC's President and CEO. "Our acquisition of Optimal is part of that strategy - which began with the ZoneCare acquisition in January of 2008, and continued with the divestiture of our pharmacy division in July of that same year. The acquisition of Optimal significantly strengthens our geographic presence within the transportation and translation sector and demonstrates our commitment to continued focus and investment in this important market."

For more than 25 years, MSC has created scale and breadth through its national network of locally based providers committed to delivering the best service possible. "As a result of this combination of MSC, ZoneCare, and Optimal, and their unique best-in-breed capabilities, we are poised to lead the industry with true expertise, superior technology and benefits of scale," said Delaney.

"This is an exciting next step for Optimal," said Greg Engelman, Optimal CEO. "In evaluating strategic alternatives, we were impressed with MSC's technology and business philosophy, which is very similar to ours: dedication to customer service, inculcating respect for the individual and commitment to personal integrity. They offer national breadth, but provide the kind of customer service and focus on relationships that you would expect from a local provider. They are a nimble, responsive and focused group, and we are eager to develop and grow our offerings in conjunction with them."
