Date:7/16/2009

CARLSBAD, Calif., July 16 /PRNewswire/ -- MO BIO Laboratories, Inc., the leader in soil and microbial nucleic acid purification, announces the launch of an innovative new product, PowerFood(TM) Microbial DNA Isolation Kit, designed to isolate high-quality genomic DNA from food cultured microorganisms.

The PowerFood Microbial DNA Isolation Kit stands out from other commercial food kits with its easy-to-use protocol that allows for isolation of DNA from a variety of gram + and gram - food pathogens. Further, it is the only complete kit on the market, eliminating the need to purchase additional reagents for post-purification clean up and lysis enzymes. The PowerFood Microbial DNA Isolation Kit incorporates patented Inhibitor Removal Technology(R) (IRT) to remove PCR-inhibiting compounds associated with food cultures, such as lipids and polysaccharides. The kit provides high quality, inhibitor-free DNA for use in downstream applications including PCR, qPCR and genotyping assays

The PowerFood Microbial DNA Isolation Kit is available now. For more information visit the MO BIO website (www.mobio.com) or call 800-606-6246 to order.
