Date:5/3/2013

Westchester, IL (PRWEB) May 03, 2013

Illinois-based athletic, event and nonprofit insurance agency, MIC Insurance Agency, encourages employers and employees across the country to celebrate National Employee Health and Fitness Day on Wednesday, May 15th.

Employee Health and Fitness Month was formed by two non-profit organizations, the National Association for Health & Fitness and ACTIVE Life. This international and national observance was created with one specific goal in mind: To promote the benefits of a healthy work environment and lifestyle. By promoting health and physical activities in the office, business owners may not only improve their employees’ overall wellbeing but company morale and motivation. This is a win/win for all involved!

As an agency that provides coverage and protection to sports leagues, teams, associations, businesses, nonprofits and more, MIC Insurance Agency believes it is critical to support this observance. In light of the month, it has put together a list of benefits that workplace wellness and fitness programs bring to both employers AND employees.

For employers:

  •     Improved employee productivity
  •     Lower health care costs
  •     Reduction of employee absenteeism
  •     A decrease in illness and injuries

For employees:

  •     Lower stress levels
  •     Enhanced wellbeing
  •     Increase in job satisfaction
  •     Increase self-image and esteem
  •     Improve physical fitness

MIC Insurance Agency fully supports sports-related businesses, little leagues and more. However, young children, teens, and coaches are not the only people who should be active! No matter what the business may be, employees and employers should make it a priority to promote healthy activities and habits within the workplace. It is time for business owners and employers to step up to the plate and celebrate wellness and health on May 15, 2013!
