MEDai Evidence-Based Guideline Reporting Provides Decision Support at Point of Care
Date:12/2/2008

ORLANDO, Fla., Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- MEDai, Inc., headquartered in Orlando, FL, a leading healthcare solutions provider, has added a new module to its existing suite of predictive modeling solutions. The new stand-alone module monitors a population's compliance to evidence-based medicine guidelines and alerts stakeholders when there has been a deviation from treatment protocol. The module Risk Navigator Guidelines(TM) provides real-time decision support at point of care.

This flexible solution incorporates over 140 evidenced-based medicine guidelines based on standards of care established by organizations like NCQA, AHRQ, The American Diabetes Association and AQS. Covering 19 chronic conditions and preventative measures, designated users have the ability to edit the existing guidelines and/or create new ones around conditions and initiatives specific to their organization. More importantly, the module allows clients to update compliance information on a real-time basis -- providing up to date information while members are being treated.

"MEDai designed this application around the need of health plans, physicians, and consumers to have access to pertinent information regarding treatment protocols and compliance to those protocols when something can still be done to improve the outcome," said Swati Abbott, President of MEDai. "Monitoring member compliance to evidence-based medicine guidelines is necessary and Risk Navigator Guidelines allows everyone involved in the healthcare delivery process to benefit from data sharing and advanced analytics," she concluded.
