Student Medical Insurance Strengthens Offerings to Colleges and Universities

Baltimore, MD. (Vocus) May 4, 2009 -- MEDEX Global Group announced today that it has formally completed the acquisition of CMI Insurance, formerly a PSA company. CMI is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of MEDEX Insurance Services, Inc., the travel medical insurance entity within MEDEX Global Group.

"We have worked hard on this deal and are very pleased with the results," states Bruce Kirby, President and CEO of MEDEX Global Group. "The pairing of CMI and MEDEX is a natural fit that supports our strategic growth initiatives."

The addition of CMI insurance products positions MEDEX as a premier risk management solution for secondary schools, colleges, universities and educational organizations worldwide. Thousands of organizations and millions of travelers, who already subscribe to MEDEX's pre-travel intelligence products and medical, travel and security solutions, now have the additional option of comprehensive off-the-shelf and custom designed medical insurance.

"In today's ever changing security and medical environment, we know schools are concerned about their students and want to protect them when they study outside of their home country," says Linda McGee, President of MEDEX Insurance Services, Inc., "MEDEX's operational experience and broad spectrum of products tailored to this market, allows us to be a quality partner in helping them achieve that goal."

Similarly, existing CMI clients can now access MEDEX's broader range of services and consider the additional offerings presented through all of MEDEX Global Group's companies. In fact, it was almost exactly one year ago that MEDEX Global Group announced their strategic acquisition of ASI Group, a leading security risk management company which services eight of the Top 10 Fortune 500 companies with their global intelligence, security operations, crisis management, and travel security management offerings.
