(PRWEB) May 15, 2010 -- The Zig Zag Foundation today announced a new and exciting partnership that will see it work with one of Australia’s leading health insurers, MBF, to help children in need.

MBF Health Insurance will partner with the Zig Zag Foundation for its Gala Ball on the 22 May, which raises funds for sick, underprivileged and at risk children between the ages of 0-18 years.

MBF Queensland General Manager, Chris Smedley, said the company was proud to partner with the Zig Zag Foundation.

“We are delighted that we are able to help improve the lives of children by supporting the Zig Zag Foundation, as well as this year’s Gala Ball,” he said.

“This partnership is a natural fit for MBF Health Insurance given our long-term goal of helping people lead longer, healthier, happier lives.

“Additionally, our involvement highlights our commitment to support the communities in which we operate through a range of local to national initiatives.”

Zig Zag Foundation Director and Founder Michelle Lawson said that support from companies such as MBF Health Insurance allows the organisation to fulfill its mission to put every cent raised towards helping children in need.

“Having the support of a leading healthcare company is a huge vote of confidence for our organisation and the important work we do to improve the lives of children and their families. We look forward to this partnership continuing for many years to come,” Lawson said

“This partnership will also enable us to increase brand awareness of what we do, so we can raise even more funds for Australian children who desperately need our help”.

The Zig Zag Foundation operates on a purely voluntary basis, with minimal operational and administration costs. The money raised by the Foundation is granted to Queensland and nationally- registered children's charities and organizations who apply for special project funding.

The Foundation has previously provided funding to a range of charities including, but not limited to, the Royal Children's Hospital, The Smith Family, Vision Australia, Guide Dogs, Bravehearts, Montrose Access, and the Xavier Children’s Support Network.
