Date:8/27/2009

FAIRLAWN, Ohio, Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The Medical Transcription Education Center (M-TEC), a highly-respected and ACCP-approved Medical Transcription (MT) training program, announced that it has made leadership transitions to ensure that the company continues its successful mission of providing cutting-edge educational platforms and producing the best-trained medical transcriptionists in the industry. Susan Francis, CMT, AHDI-Fellow, the Co-founder of M-TEC and a pioneer in the MT education industry, is retiring as President but will continue to guide the company on a consulting and project basis. Jack McCullough, a renowned executive in the education arena, has been named the new President of M-TEC and will spearhead the organization's bold future initiatives to accommodate the evolving role of the MT profession. The announcement was made by Sean Carroll, CEO of Webmedx, the parent company of M-TEC.

"Jack is a dynamic leader, veteran of online education programs and an exceptional successor to Susan in the role of M-TEC President," says Carroll. "We are proud of the tremendous quality and reputation of M-TEC's educational programs for MTs and are also fortunate to have Jack take the helm of M-TEC as he works closely with the terrific operations and instructional staff to enhance and update the curriculum in relation to the future of clinical documentation. Employers across the country seek M-TEC graduates due to the fact that they are work-ready professionals and Jack will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing that standard of excellence."

Jack McCullough brings to M-TEC 30 years of diverse experience in the career education, online/e-learning and educational consulting industries. His most recent positions include serving as the managing partner of Education Ventures, a consulting firm to for-profit education groups and prior to that, as the regional director of Education Affiliates which is a $300 million for-profit education services company with 35 campuses. His career achievements include growing educational service companies and preparing them for access to the Title IV Federal Student Loan Program. At M-TEC, Jack will be responsible for leading the organization's expansion as well as guiding a new Director of Education and a new Director of Innovative Business Practices to fulfill the company's goals of innovation and cutting-edge plans for advancement.

As a strong proponent of the MT industry and its practitioners, Susan Francis is confident that M-Tec's staff and high-level instructor support will continue to be the catalyst in generating curriculum changes, eLearning improvements and on-going enhancements for students and graduates.

"I am excited to see that the M-TEC team, under the leadership of Mr. McCullough, is excited and buzzing about the outcome these enhancements will have for the future, and I anticipate an even greater focus on student success rates and industry collaboration," says Francis. "M-TEC is heading in a forward-thinking direction and I am proud of the students and staff for positively impacting healthcare and individuals' lives through quality distance education."

About M-TEC

The Medical Transcription Education Center (M-TEC) was developed and founded in 1996 by experienced MTs (Kathleen Kropko, CMT, AHDI-Fellow and Susan Francis, CMT, AHDI-Fellow) who made it their mission to provide the highest quality education for medical transcription training.
