Lutheran Senior Services Partners with Silverchair Learning Systems to Enhance Employee Training and Education
Date:8/31/2007

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Lutheran Senior Services (LSS), a leading senior living organization, has taken another step in ensuring that they provide the highest quality care and supportive services for older adults. LSS announces that it has partnered with Silverchair Learning Systems to provide superior training and a comprehensive learning management system to their employees, beginning in January 2008.

"Lutheran Senior Services is committed to excellence in helping older adults live life the fullest," says Linda Detring, VP of Operations for LSS. "One way to keep that promise is to recruit, hire, educate, and retain the most talented and dedicated staff. Silverchair's Learning Management System is an investment in our employees. As such, it also becomes an investment in continuing our high standard of compassionate care and service. We believe this system will enhance our training and serve as a great motivator, helping us in the recruitment of individuals that share our philosophy."

"I'm looking forward to 2008 with great anticipation," says Sue Duncan, Director of Staff Development for LSS. "Our already great training program is going to get even better. The ability to create assignments and track progress using the Silverchair system is going to free up a lot of administrative time, allowing us to work even more directly with staff at our various locations. Even more exciting is that every employee at every level will have training brought directly to them through innovative on-site technology."

Lutheran Senior Services is based in St. Louis, MO, and is one of the nation's largest not-for-profit multi-site senior living organizations. By using Silverchair's eLearning program, LSS will improve efficiencies in scheduling and tracking as well as keeping course content current as regulations and topics change. The Silverchair Learning Management System delivers, tracks, and reports on educational programs for client organizations. It provides a complete curriculum of in-service and regulatory courses required by CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), as well as important resident care topics that specifically address the needs of senior care providers and their employees. Program users can also customize the system to include material specific to their location.

"We couldn't be more excited to be working with Lutheran Senior Services," says Mike Mutka, Executive Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for Silverchair Learning Systems. "With their strong reputation in St. Louis and their ongoing commitment to employee education and development, they will be a great partner for many years to come."
