Date:1/9/2014

New Orleans, LA (PRWEB) January 09, 2014

The School of Nursing at Loyola University New Orleans continues to excel, earning top rankings for a third year in a row among the 2014 Best Online Program Rankings published by U.S. News & World Report on January 7, 2014. The 2014 Best Online Program Rankings marks the third year that the guide has been published with ranking methodologies based on various common factors measuring five categories: Student engagement, faculty credentials and training, student services and technology, peer reputation and admissions selectivity.

“Continuing to be recognized as a best online program is an incredible achievement for our program,” says Mary Oriol, DrPH., RN, and Interim Director of Loyola’s School of Nursing. “I am proud that our faculty and staff in the School of Nursing are being acknowledged for their solid commitment to educational goals that transform the abilities and perspectives of our students, thus making substantive professional contributions to health care.”

Loyola’s online graduate nursing program was measured as one of 471 CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or ACEN (Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing) accredited graduate degree granting institutions offering fully online programs, that met the criteria set forth by the U.S. Department of Education’s definition of an online [distance] education program.

For the third year in a row, Loyola continues to receive designation with top rankings in five distinguishing areas:

  •     3rd in Student Engagement and Accreditation (maintained from 2013)
  •     6th in Overall Best Online Graduat
