One of the hottest topics throughout California and Los Angeles has been legalizing medical cannabis. Medical cannabis is, of course, already legalized; however, the state government's inability to regulate it, and the federal government's harsh stance against medical cannabis have hampered any growth in this industry.

(PRWEB) August 13, 2009 -- One of the hottest topics throughout California and Los Angeles has been legalizing medical cannabis. Medical cannabis is, of course, already legalized; however, the state government's inability to regulate it, and the federal government's harsh stance against medical cannabis have hampered any growth in this industry.

Los Angeles medical cannabis however has great potential, especially with the federal government's new stance on the issue and the state's new approach as well. The Obama Administration has decided that if states are going to legalize medical cannabis, then federal authorities should not interfere with the state's operations. The state of California has decided that since the economy has hit a difficult spot, they should take the next logical step with cannabis and use it as a source of tax revenue for the state. Both of these are a huge plus for anyone interested in Los Angeles medical cannabis, because it means the ever present hand of law enforcement is slowly being repealed.

Brief History:
Shortly before Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) took office as President of the United States, the federal government had a ban on liquor. After FDR repealed prohibition, numerous beverage companies, including the now international Anheuser-Busch, exploded in growth.
