Planned Parenthood Gala Draws Food Lovers and Activists Alike

LOS ANGELES, March 11 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The most influential leaders of pro-choice Los Angeles gather alongside the city's premier wineries, chefs, food and restaurant critics once a year to support the critical work of Planned Parenthood Los Angeles, and to sample the finest food and drink that L.A. has to offer.

Join us for this once-a-year opportunity at Planned Parenthood Los Angeles' Annual Food Fare at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium on Thursday, March 13, 2008. The daytime event begins at 10:30 a.m., and the evening event begins at 6:00 p.m.

Food Fare began in 1979 with a cooking demonstration by Julia Child to raise funds for Planned Parenthood Los Angeles (PPLA). Today, the event features more than 150 of Los Angeles' best restaurants, caterers, wineries, florists, and entertainers, and draws thousands of Los Angeles residents with an appetite for great food, great drink, and a great cause. Highly acclaimed restaurants such as Josie, A.O.C. and Lucques make the scene this year, alongside L.A. classic and Food Fare regular Pink's Hot Dogs.

Food Fare also features a Silent Auction, including fabulous vacation packages, entertainment and sporting event tickets, gift certificates, arts and crafts and more.

PPLA is the largest private provider of reproductive health care in Los Angeles County, reaching 93,000 women, men and teens each year with medical care.
