WALNUT CREEK, Calif., Dec. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Longs Drug Stores Corporation (NYSE: LDG) is pleased to announce today that it plans to lease space to Access Medical Clinics to own and operate walk-in medical clinics in two Longs Drugs by the end of calendar 2007. The Longs Drugs in the Mililani Town Center and Ewa Beach will soon offer customers the added convenience of easy access to medical care.

Access Medical Clinics is an independent operator separate from Longs Drugs. Access plans to provide care to meet basic health needs such as the treatment of colds, flu, infections, rashes and strep throat. No appointment will be necessary since all care will be delivered on a walk-in basis. The clinics will be staffed by physicians with oversight over physician assistants and nurse practitioners.

"Longs Drugs welcomes Access Medical Clinics into our stores," said Bob Ingersoll, Group Vice President of Hawaii Store Operations. "We use a multiple operator model when pursuing the addition of walk-in medical clinics to our stores and we have similar relationships with independent medical clinics in four of our stores on the Mainland as well as nine Quest Diagnostic Labs. Longs is always looking for new ways to promote healthy lifestyles and enhance the convenience we offer our customers."

Longs' selection criteria for establishing relationships with independent medical practices include a shared focus on customer service. The clinics should offer quality care at affordable prices and services should be provided by a friendly and qualified staff within facilities that are designed
