Long-time QHR Hospital Client Cary Medical Center Recognized with Top Leadership Team Award

e at the hospital, and then continued her education to become one of the hospital's registered nurses - with a degree from the University of Maine in 1983. She was later named manager of surgical services. In 1994, Doody was promoted to the position of chief operating officer at Cary Medical Center and then, in 1999, to the position of chief executive officer. During her time as COO, Doody also earned a master's degree in business from Husson College.

In addition to serving as CEO of Cary Medical Center, Doody is chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Maine Hospital Association. She is also actively involved in the State of Maine Community College System, serving as a member of its Board of Directors and incoming Board chair; the Board of Directors for Husson University; and the American Hospital Association Regional Policy Board. Doody is a recipient of the ACHE Early Career Regents Award and has been named an "Up and Comer" by Modern Healthcare, "Woman of the Year" by the Maine Business and Professional Women's Association, and "Alumnus of the Year" by the University of Maine at Presque Isle.

Cary Medical Center is a 65-bed acute care hospital located in Caribou, Maine - America's most northeastern city. A national leader in clinical quality care and patient safety, the hospital's campus features a Veterans Administration outpatient clinic, and a state veterans' home and residential care facility. Cary Medical Center also manages a nine-bed residential unit for mentally retarded adults.
