Let Them Hear Foundation hosts annual wine auction; honors Robert Mondavi and announces newest family venture
EAST PALO ALTO, Calif., Oct. 9 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Silicon Valley professionals, California vintners, and local businesses and residents band together to bring hearing to those living in silence at the fifth annual Crush the Silence V wine auction. Hosted by the Let Them Hear Foundation at the Four Seasons Hotel, Silicon Valley on October 9, 2008 at 6:00 p.m., dinner will be prepared by Four Seasons Chef Alessandro Cartumini.
The black tie event will feature wine tasting by Joseph Phelps Vineyards, Miner Family Vineyards, Silver Oak Cellars and Spring Mountain Vineyard, and pouring by leading California vintners at every table. Silent and live auctions, led by auctioneer Greg Quiroga, will feature exclusive vacation and wine packages from wineries and private cellars.
Speakers include world-leading ear surgeon and LTHF Founder Dr. Joseph Roberson and LTHF Executive Director Barry Del Buono, recipient of the City of San Jose's 2007 Humanitarian of the Year Award. A presentation will feature LTHF's recent trip to Nepal where medical professionals trained 60 of the country's 62 ear surgeons, and helped three children to hear for the first time. A tribute to Robert Mondavi, host of the first Crush the Silence at his winery, will precede an announcement of the family's newest venture -- Continuum. Carissa, Dorothy and Tim Mondavi will be in attendance.
