LivingWithAsthma.net, an Online Support Community for Families of Children Suffering from Asthma, Launches in Conjunction with World Asthma Day, May 7, 2013
Date:5/6/2013

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) May 06, 2013

LivingWithAsthma.net, the newest online support community for families of children with asthma, launches tomorrow, May 7, 2013, which is World Asthma Day—an annual event organized by the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA). The new site seeks to raise awareness of the disease, offer practical lifestyle tips and advice for preventing asthma flare-ups, and create a community forum for mothers to discuss their experiences and triumphs in raising an asthmatic child.

In an effort to celebrate families who live with asthma and empower families to live well despite their child’s asthma diagnosis, LivingWithAsthma.net will share the stories and advice of mothers around the world who have found tips and tricks to help ease their child’s suffering.

LivingWithAsthma.net was born as a result of co-founder Carolyn Roberts years of frustration dealing with the challenges and triumphs her family faced after her son Jack’s asthma diagnosis. LivingWithAsthma.net grew out of Carolyn’s desire to share what she has learned in her family’s journey with asthma to help others improve the lives of their asthmatic children. Carolyn’s co-founder Lisa Tsou brings technical expertise and a passion to help others to the Living With Asthma community. Lisa previously founded MyHealthCafe.com and has been interviewed as an expert on healthcare topics by top media outlets such as CNBC and MSNBC.

LivingWithAsthma.net covers topics from one mother to another, including home remedies, practical lifestyle changes that can reduce triggers, product reviews and more. Among the topics covered are stories such as “Eight Foods to Avoid if Your Child Has Asthma,” “Featured Asthmatic Athlete: Breathe It Like David Beckham,” and “Asthma Treatment Options: Short Acting Medications (Rescue Inhalers).” Carolyn will soon be beginning a personal blog as part of the site to share her own family’s stories.

To celebrate World Asthma day (http://www.ginasthma.org/World-Asthma-Day), LivingWithAsthma.net is asking readers to share their asthma stories and tips via facebook at https://www.facebook.com/LWAsthma, or submitting to the website by emailing lisa(at)livingwithasthma(dot)net.
