Legacy Hills Hearing Center by Estes Audiology and the Georgetown Sertoma Club Will Collect Donated Hearing Aids on May 15 during Hearing Aid Roundup.

Georgetown, TX (Vocus) April 29, 2010 -- Legacy Hills Hearing Center by Estes Audiology and the Georgetown Sertoma Club hope to be up to their ears in hearing aids when they host the Hearing Aid Roundup on Saturday, May 15, 2010. The Roundup will celebrate Better Speech and Hearing Month by asking residents in Georgetown and surrounding communities to donate their used hearing aids. The event will take place from 11 am until 3 pm at Legacy Hills Hearing Center and will include free grilled hot dogs and beverages for the public.

Donated hearing aids will be refurbished and then given to the UT-Austin Speech and Hearing Clinic, where the clinicians and audiology doctoral students will fit and make them available to those who would otherwise be unable to afford them. All donations are tax deductible.

“Everyone should have the chance to hear,” said Soriya Estes, AuD, owner and founder of Legacy Hills Hearing Center by Estes Audiology. “So each donation of an unused hearing aid is a gift of a better life for someone who is hearing impaired. We encourage everyone to come by, drop off unused hearing aids and enjoy our refreshments and some Texas hospitality.”

“Even if you don’t have a hearing aid to donate but would still like to help, the Sertoma Club will also accept monetary donations for its Hearing Aid Recycling Program,” added Jim Wilson, Speech & Hearing Director of the Georgetown Sertoma Club.
