Lisa Beth Gerstman Foundation Awarded CVS/pharmacy Community Grant

GARDEN CITY, N.Y., Feb. 12 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Lisa Beth Gerstman Foundation (LBGF) received a $1,200 CVS/pharmacy Community Grant to support its mission of sending physically disabled children in the Northeast United States to summer camp.

The award will help the Foundation send physically disabled children to summer camp at no cost at one of the established LBGF camps across the New York Metro area. Foundation camp programs are in place at various locations in the Northeast including: Cross Island YMCA in Bellerose, NY; Prospect Park YMCA in Brooklyn, NY; Samuel Field YM&YWHA in Bayside, NY; Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds in Huntington, NY; and Children's Aid Society's Wagon Road Camp in Chappaqua, NY.

Dan Gerstman, Co-founder of the LBGF is thrilled to receive the support of CVS. "We are grateful for the support shown by CVS," he said. "With their help, we can continue to give scholarships to more physically disabled children so that they can attend summer camp this year."

The CVS/pharmacy Community Grant to the LBGF is part of CVS/pharmacy's commitment to its communities throughout the country. The LBGF was selected to receive a grant through the CVS/pharmacy Community Grants 2007 grant application process. Grants were awarded to organizations that share a common vision with CVS/pharmacy's All Kids Can(TM) Program, which strives to make life easier for children with disabilities. The goal of the program is to create more inclusive environments for children with and without disabilities to build self-esteem, lasting friendships, and social skills, and to help children without disabilities learn diversity and tolerance.
