Lipo Body Sculpture of Houston Now Performing Liposuction Correction Without Additional Surgery
Date:3/20/2013

(PRWEB) March 20, 2013

Mesotherapy fat dissolving injections can now be used to correct common fatty irregularities that occur after healing from liposuction surgery, the most commonly performed cosmetic surgical operation. These injections consist of sterile injectable medications that are precisely injected directly into remaining fatty lumps to get them to shrink gradually over several weeks. The fat dissolving medications include asthma medicines to block the storage of fat, bile-like medicines to increase the permeability (leakiness) of fat cells, and fat burning hormones. The prescription medications are only available to licensed physicians and are generally manufactured or supplied through FDA-approved compounding pharmacies.

With each treatment, the physician or medical practitioner outlines the areas of bulging or uneven fat. Using a tiny needle, similar to those used by diabetics to administer insulin injections, tiny amounts of the fat dissolving mixture is injected directly into the fat one-half to one-quarter of an inch below the skin. Multiple areas can be treated during each session. Depending on the thickness, fat volumes, and post-surgical scarring present, multiple sessions are required– this is not a quick fix. The sessions can be done as frequently as every three weeks.

"Targeted mesotherapy fat loss injections provide a non-invasive, non-surgical option for patients that do not want the downtime and expense of another operation," says Raul P. Rodriguez, M.D., a Dallas cosmetic surgeon who, in 2002, established the first national mesotherapy training program for physicians. "Patience and realistic expectations are the most important considerations."

The localized fat loss injections are generally quite safe, since only small amounts of the medications are introduced into the body using this targeted approach. Side effects may include localized swelling or itching sensations and bruising. Allergic reactions are rare. Individuals who are pregnant or have serious medical conditions may not be suitable candidates.
