Lilly to Sponsor Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's Annual Legislative Conference
Date:9/24/2008

a W. Rice, Lilly's senior vice president and chief financial officer, said the company is "extremely proud" to be the first-ever premier sponsor of ALC. "The 2008 ALC will serve as a capstone to another banner year for the CBCF and we are honored to support the Foundation's efforts around public health, education, leadership development and many other roles that they play in improving the lives of African Americans," Rice said.

In addition to its premier sponsorship, Lilly's new "Working Together for Better Health" booth will provide useful information and resources to conference attendees, including A Healthy You! -- America's Guide to Healthy Living. A Healthy You! is a 148-page pocket-sized guide that provides information and resources on how to lead a healthy life and prevent chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes.

"For the past 130 years, it has been Lilly's mission to provide 'Answers that Matter,'" said Rice. "Whether these answers are in the form of drugs that treat some of the world's most urgent needs, disease management programs that improve patient care, or the general health care information found in our book, our goal is to help people live better lives."

Lilly and CBCF have maintained a strategic partnership for nearly a decade in efforts to keep the lines of dialog open to improve the healthcare landscape for African Americans.
