LightLab(R) Imaging Showcases Advanced OCT System Technology at TCT 2009
Date:9/18/2009

WESTFORD, Mass., Sept. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- LightLab Imaging Inc., the pioneer and leader in the development of Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) for intravascular and other applications, announced today that it will showcase its advanced FD-OCT(TM) technology, the C7-XR(TM) imaging system, at the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) conference in San Francisco, CA starting Monday, September 21 through Friday, September 25, 2009.

During TCT, LightLab will host a breakfast symposium at which leading interventional cardiologists will present the emerging "gold standard" for Frequency Domain OCT. The symposium will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 7:00 a.m., in the Moscone Center in Room 121.

Presenting their clinical experiences using LightLab's advanced OCT technology at the symposium are Carlo DiMario, MD, of the National Heart and Lung Institute in London; Francesco Prati, MD, of San Giovanni Hospital in Rome; and Evelyn Regar, MD, of the Thoraxcenter of Erasmus Medical Center in The Netherlands. Co-chairs of the symposium are Patrick Serruys, MD, Professor of Interventional Cardiology at the Interuniversity Cardiological Institute of The Netherlands and Erasmus University; and Giulio Guagliumi, MD, a leader in the use of OCT in coronary arteries practicing in Cardiovascular Department of Ospedali Riuniti de Bergamo in Bergamo, Italy.

Several live cases will be performed using LightLab's OCT technology on Tuesday, September 22, and Friday, September 25, 2009 at 10:35 a.m. in Coronary Theater, Hall D and the Main Arena.

"We are excited about the demonstrations utilizing our C7-XR(TM) Imaging System with the C7 Dragonfly(TM) Imaging Catheter during live cases this week at TCT," said David Kolstad, President and CEO of LightLab Imaging.

LightLab's FD-OCT technology system will be shown for the duration of TCT in booth 931. Company representatives will be on hand to demonstrate the C7XR Imaging System and the C7 Dragonfly Imaging Catheter's speed and ease of use for interventional cardiologists.

About LightLab OCT

FD-OCT technology generates intravascular images with a resolution up to 10 to 15 times greater than other commercially available imaging devices, including Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS). With its extreme resolution, FD-OCT may become the new standard for interventional imaging.

The C7-XR system follows LightLab's M2 and M2x OCT Imaging Systems, which are available in more than 40 countries worldwide. More than 15,000 patients have already benefited from intracoronary OCT images acquired with LightLab systems.

LightLab Imaging Inc. is still the world's only provider of OCT systems approved for commercial distribution for the coronary interventional application.

The C7-XR system further advances LightLab's product offerings by providing a system that is 10 times faster, and of even higher resolution, than previous generations. These advances permit high speed, non-occlusive imaging of coronary vasculature at extreme resolution. A fast and simple monorail catheter obtains images of the coronary anatomy with unequaled image quality in mere seconds.

About LightLab Imaging Inc.
