LightAir Cleans the Air From the Smallest and Most Dangerous Particles Without Generating Ozone

Small Particles and Ozone Cause Severe Health Problems

Millions of non-smokers have died during the latter years due to the chest disease COPD. A disease until now associated with smoking, but has lately been proven to be caused by small particles in poor indoor air quality.

The conclusion was stated in a new report from the WHO and was presented at the European lung medicine congress in Stockholm, September 2007. According to the report chronically lung diseases will be the third largest cause of death in year 2020. (DN, 14th of September 2007).

Many other factors indicate that small particles and ozone cause severe health problems.

"State bans in-home ozone air purifiers, citing health risks. The California Air Resources Board says the regulation, which takes effect in 2009, is the first of its kind in the nation". (Los Angeles Times, 28th of September 2007)

FDA requires ozone output of indoor medical devices to be no more than 0.05 ppm. According to Consumer Reports many air purifiers on the market surpass the threshold value by emitting ozone of 0.05-0.3 ppm.

The Smallest Particles are the Most Dangerous

Particles below 0.1 microns are labelled ultra fine and are suspected to enter the blood vessels through the alveoli and thereby cause or worsen health problems. These particles normally represent more than 90% of all particles in the air.
