Date:3/5/2009

FORT WORTH, Texas, March 5 /PRNewswire/ -- LifeSynch, a health and productivity improvement company, announced that it has been selected by Norfolk Southern Corp. (http://www.nscorp.com) to provide healthy lifestyle management, tobacco cessation, nutrition, weight management, fitness and health coaching services for the organization's 30,000 railway employees.

Through its program called WellNS, Norfolk Southern provides an innovative support and communications infrastructure that allows for interactive coaching between NS employees and LifeSynch professionals. This provides employees with wellness content and resources tailored specifically for them. "The goal of WellNS is to integrate health and wellness into the daily life of Norfolk Southern," said Bob Cramer of Human Resources. "Our business benefits because healthy employees are more productive, work more safely, and require less medical care."

"Norfolk Southern has a strong commitment for participation, and they are actively engaging their employees and their spouses, which is key," said Patrick Gotcher, president of LifeSynch. "We have successfully implemented wellness programs at other organizations, and Norfolk Southern is on the right track."
