Life Line Screening Offers Special Pricing on Colorectal Home Test Kits in Honor of National Colorectal Cancer Month

In honor of March as National Colorectal Cancer Month, Independence-based preventive health screening provider offers discounted FDA-approved home tests kits for colorectal cancer.

Independence, OH (PRWeb) March 4, 2010 -- Life Line Screening is offering FDA-approved home tests kits for colorectal cancer for a discounted price of $15. Neighborhood screenings can be found through the Life Line Screening website, and people can drop by to pick up their home test kit at a convenient health screening site near their homes.

According to the National Foundation for Cancer Research, many people don’t realize that colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in both men and women and accounts for about 10% of all cancer deaths each year.

The good news is that colorectal cancer can be caught early. NFCR recommends men and women getting a yearly fecal occult blood test or fecal immunochemical test each year. According to the NFCR, men and women should get a colonoscopy every 5-10 years starting at age 50.

Life Line Screening’s test checks for fecal occult blood. The EZ Detect™ Colon Disease Test is an FDA-approved, fecal occult blood test (FOBT) for home use. There is no laboratory process, and results are given in 2 minutes. The purpose is to detect occult blood (blood not visible to the naked eye), which indicates bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract. Such bleeding may be a symptom of colorectal cancer.
