Hair Fairies (www.hairfairies.com) opens new salon to help San Diego's frantic families rid themselves of lice
SAN DIEGO, May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Hair Fairies, the head lice helpers, (www.hairfairies.com) today announced that it will open the first and only head lice removal salon in San Diego on May 12, 2009.
Hair Fairies, in business since 1999, is a nationwide, full service salon dedicated to removing head lice. With salons in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco, Hair Fairies has now expanded to San Diego.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), an estimated 6 million to 12 million infestations occur each year in the United States among children 3 to 11 years of age. Though head lice are not dangerous, they can interrupt both school and work schedules for parents due to the "no-nit" policy at many schools, where children cannot come to school with "nits" or lice eggs.
