Leveraging Cloud Computing is the Latest Offering by ICG Consulting to Streamline Costs While Delivering Robust Business Process Solutions
Date:4/8/2009

In this challenging business and economic environment executives are looking for ways to streamline back-office operations without sacrificing the benefits technologies like content management, customer & supplier portals, and automated workflows can deliver.

Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) April 8, 2009 -- Financial back office solutions provider ICG Consulting announced today that is offering its clients several new options to deliver and maintain its world-class business processing solutions. ICG has developed a series of new programs utilizing Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) capabilities. Amazon EC2 changes the economics of computing by allowing you to pay only for capacity that you actually use that leverage the "cloud", or hosted applications on servers maintained by Cloud Computing service suppliers. ICG has adapted its world-class RPM family of business process frameworks and its content storage and retrieval applications to be deployed and managed in an EC2 environment.

Jim O'Rourke, ICG Consulting's Director of Business Development, sees significant traction for this solutions delivery model given the difficult economic conditions. "ICG's success has always been based on our ability to save our clients significant amounts of money with quick and compelling returns from our solutions" said O'Rourke. "These new offerings will allow our clients to take advantage of these critical cost savings solutions without the burden of capital expenditures or significant IT resources".

Among the ICG business solution frameworks that have been adapted for ICG's EC2 program include, Supplier Portal, Business Rules Processing Engine, Business Process Management, Content Storage & Retrieval, AP Processing, AR/Cash Management, and many more. Clients have the flexibility to implement some applications in the "cloud" while maintaining others internally. This offering also allows ICG's clients to store large amounts of related business content, data, images and electronic documents, in the "cloud" for a very low cost with minimal risk.

According to ICG's Director of Technical Operations, Jason Douglas, this new delivery and maintenance model offers the scalability that IT departments demand. "We have seen a lot of excitement about the ability to quickly deliver solutions of varying degrees of complexity and with large storage requirements. The ability to scale up or down quickly without significantly impacting an organizations IT infrastructure or resources is a game changer. Add to that the ease of integrating the "cloud" deployed solutions with existing internal systems has both IT staff and business users are embracing this approach". Mr. Douglas also noted "this new model allows our clients take these applications and solutions in-house at any time with virtually no notice. Because these programs are designed as a pay for only what you use, when you use them, there is no leasing of hardware involved or long-term contracts to sign".

ICG has delivered their solutions to leading companies in a variety of industries including foodservice, distribution, manufacturing, utilities, healthcare, and hospitality & gaming.
