Date:10/29/2013

Owatonna, MN (PRWEB) October 29, 2013

The U.S. older adult population –- those over age 65 –- now totals 40 million and is growing at a faster rate than any other age group. In fact, the number of seniors could double over the next 25 years, according to the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP).

“Over the past several years, many of our customers expressed a desire for resource materials designed specifically for the older adult market,” said Mary Beth Anderson, LZX national education consultant. “As we researched and learned more about seniors, we determined there was a real need for contemporary senior teaching tools that featured engaging, meaningful content and accurately represented the senior age group.”

LZX teamed with registered dietitians specializing in geriatric health who provided the latest research and insights about communicating with the older adult market. The resulting educational offerings feature colorful graphics and images as well as concise copy presented in a larger, easy-to-read format that is easy on the eyes. The new product line includes brochures, handouts, posters, and games specifically designed to promote health among seniors.

Product topics focus on health concerns that are common to seniors, such as food safety, dietary issues, hydration, diabetes, sodium intake and an active lifestyle. The MyPlate eating guidelines are also part of the new LZX senior learning tools. Tailored specifically for the older adult, the '/>"/>
