No gym, no problem! The top fitness trends of 2014 are designed for effectiveness and efficiency without the confines of a gym. According to the American College of Sports Medicine’s recent survey of the top 20 fitness trends for 2014, gym and typical class-style fitness solutions were missing from the top rankings.

What are the major fitness trends for 2014? An overwhelming number of Americans are seeking more practical, yet effective workouts that fit the anywhere workout class. In fact, most Americans agree that the top Fitness Trends of 2014 are fat burning home workouts, travel and anywhere workouts.

This is believed to be due to the incredible, time-saving results that only require a small or free investment and almost no equipment. (This statement was recently published by the American College of Sports Medicine’s top 20 fitness trends review for 2014). None of the “old school” workout methods made the list.

The top candidates of the ACSM list are the rapidly growing training principles of high-intensity interval training (metabolic conditioning). For this, think popular home workout DVD’s and CrossFit. As well, body-weight training was another runner up.
