Fifteen years ago, while a graduate student at the Medical College, Dr. Biswal and James Hyde were the first to show that the brain is active during the "resting state". This was the revolutionary study that pioneered this rapidly growing field. Dr. Hyde is the James S. Hyde Professor in Biophysics and director of the National Biomedical Electron
Paramagnetic Resonance Center.
