Leading Online Addiction Treatment Provider, Lionrock Recovery, Announces Its Real Time RecoveryTM Treatment Modality and Supporting mHealth Technology
Date:12/4/2013

(PRWEB) December 04, 2013

Leading online addiction treatment program, Lionrock Recovery, provides addiction treatment by secure online video conference and mobile Internet application to break down barriers that often stop people struggling with drugs and alcohol from getting the help they need. Now, Lionrock’s Real Time RecoveryTM creates a 24/7 therapeutic experience for outpatient addiction treatment clients.

The Real Time Recovery process starts with a daily schedule, created online each week by a counselor and client working together. Embedded in this schedule are a series of check-ins, each of which carries a therapeutic goal. Email and text messages prompt clients to use their smartphones to check-in at appointed times. Lionrock's app gathers the phone’s GPS location, a photo image, text journal entries, and a timestamp, and then records them in Lionrock's online systems.

“Outpatient treatment is no longer just a few hours each week,” said Lionrock CEO Peter Loeb. “Using Lionrock’s proprietary mobile technology, Real Time Recovery means that counselors and clients can now embed treatment plan goals into a structured schedule that goes with clients into their daily lives. Clients create a record of structure, accountability, emotions, and achievements - right when they happen.”

Sometimes the therapeutic goal is to be somewhere at a certain time, or do something specific. Other times, the goal is to create a time/place record of emotions or cravings that may be impacting a client’s recovery. The check-ins build a graphical record that both clients and counselors can view online, in real time or at scheduled intervals.

“Whether monitoring client activity as it happens, or reviewing a client’s check-ins for individual sessions, counselors get rich feedback on how treatment is progressing. Clients see a clear record of their progressive achievements, a mosaic of success, that builds confidence and strengthens recovery,” said Loeb.

About Lionrock Recovery
Lionrock Recovery makes getting help for alcohol and drug problems easier by combining serious addiction treatment with the convenience and privacy of online therapy. Lionrock provides addiction treatment and support by secure video conference and smartphone application, and at its local office in Campbell, CA.

Lionrock Recovery’s programs are certified by the State of California, and accredited by the Joint Commission (http://www.jointcommission.org), the nation's oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in health care, which accredits over 20,000 U.S. health care providers and facilities.

For those struggling with addiction, Lionrock offers treatment at the Outpatient and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) levels of care, and offers an innovative peer counseling program, Base Camp, focused on structure and accountability, appropriate for some people in very early sobriety. Lionrock also offers Family Matters, a program appropriate for anyone with a loved one who struggles with addiction.

Only a small fraction of the estimated 23 million Americans struggling with alcohol and drug addiction seeks help for their dependency. Well-documented barriers to getting help include the stigma of admitting they have a problem, lack of privacy when getting help, the high cost of treatment, and difficulty finding treatment that doesn’t disrupt their lives, whether physical access to treatment programs or enough time to dedicate to treatment.

“Many people now struggling with alcohol and drugs while juggling busy lives don’t get help at all because the available options are too costly, too time-consuming, and too public,” said Loeb. “Lionrock’s online addiction treatment programs can be a great option, delivering high-quality care from the privacy of home, at a very affordable price, with program schedules that fit busy people’s lives.”

For its online programs, Lionrock Recovery employs state-of-the-art online videoconference technology, encrypted for security and streamed in high-definition video, to provide an experience that is safe, secure, easy to use, and in harmony with the high standards of Lionrock’s clinical practices.
