Leading Fertility Center Adds New Physician

Dr. DiGirolamo to begin practicing at Reproductive Science Center July 14

LEXINGTON, Mass., June 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Reproductive Science Center (RSC) of New England has expanded its physician staff with the addition of Dr. Carla DiGirolamo, a reproductive endocrinologist who is also accomplished in adult stem cell research and implantation biology. Starting July 14, Dr. DiGirolamo will be seeing patients in Milford, Westborough and Lexington, Mass.

"We are proud to add a physician with the skills and academic diversity of Dr. DiGirolamo to our practice," said Dr. Samuel Pang, medical director at RSC. "She shares our deep commitment to quality patient care and to giving couples every conceivable chance to become parents."

A native of Milford, Mass., Dr. DiGirolamo earned a medical degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine and completed residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at Women and Infants' Hospital in Providence, R.I. She went on to complete fellowship training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Massachusetts General Hospital. While attending medical school, she also earned a doctor of philosophy degree in molecular pathology from MCP-Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, Penn.

"Reproductive Science Center is an outstanding practice that shares my philosophy of fertility treatment," said DiGirolamo. "As a mother, I realize what a wonderful gift a child truly is -- I'm excited to work with patients to help them build their own families."

Dr. DiGirolamo has published extensively in the areas of adult stem cell research and implantation biology in journals such as the British Journal of Haematology, Stem Cells and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. She has also received several research and teaching awards from Brown and Harvard University.

Her clinical interests include the treatment of infertility using assisted reproductive technologies, recurrent pregnancy loss,
