KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Oct. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- NavigatorMD, Inc. (http://www.navigatormd.com) an innovator in providing comprehensive plan design and management technology, announced today that David Hom, Chairman of The Center of Health Value Innovation and former vice president of Strategic Initiatives at Pitney Bowes, has joined their Board of Directors.

"Today's self insured employers need integrated data to understand the health needs of their covered population, the technology to model plans to benefit both that population and the company, and the means to manage their health plan for success. Improving health and lowering costs are absolutely within reach with a plan designed specifically for these needs. David Hom led the pioneering efforts at Pitney Bowes to develop Value-Based Plan Design. He adds extensive experience and knowledge to our efforts in automating these processes. We will work together to create the product that will help companies create a healthier work force and lower health care costs for everyone. We are honored and excited that he has joined our Board of Directors and know that his presence will add great value to our strategy to provide the plan modeling and management technology for the 21st century," says Ernest Youngblood, Founder and CEO of NavigatorMD.

David Hom, who, along with Dr. Jack Mahoney, spearheaded Pitney Bowes' nationally recognized health care innovations, says, "Our experience at Pitney Bowes proves that the power inherent in the analytical availability of data provides the best means for innovative decisions in health plan design and management. The NavigatorMD tool will enable employers to understand their health care costs on a real time basis and the modeling application will allow them to make changes to their plan designs or communications with members on a real time
