Law Firm of Page Bradley to Represent Victims of Allegedly Defective Metal-on-Metal Hip Implants
Date:6/6/2013

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) June 06, 2013

The law firm Page Bradley has announced that it is continuing to review cases against DePuy Orthopaedics and Stryker, manufacturers of allegedly defective hip replacement implants. Page Bradley is currently providing legal counsel to those injured by defective metal-on-metal hip replacements.

"Metal-on-metal hip implants can cause a number of risks, including the generation of loose particles created by friction when the parts of the joint rub together," said John Page, one of the founding partners of Page Bradley. "These hip implants were supposed to relieve pain and improve mobility for people with arthritis and hip injuries. This isn’t always the case.”

In recent years, DePuy and Stryker have recalled a number of their products. DePuy recalled its ASR XL Acetabular System and ASR Hip Resurfacing System in August 2010*, following a report from The National Registry of England and Wales of higher-than-expected failure rates.** Meanwhile, Stryker issued a recall of its Rejuvenate Hip Replacement system and its ABG II Hip Implant in June 2012, after the company determined that the medical devices caused joint pain and swelling due to corrosion and fretting of the hardware.***

The use of unsafe medical devices can cause patients pain and lead to additional surgeries and medical treatment that would have otherwise been unnecessary, according to Public Citizen, a non-profit consumer rights advocacy group.*** The personal injury attorneys at Page Bradley and its’ team of legal professionals are continuing to review metal-on-metal hip cases against DePuy Orthopaedics and Stryker.
