EAU CLAIRE, Wis., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Van Wert County Hospital, Van Wert, Ohio, has become the latest facility to go live with LOGICARE(R) Corp.'s newest Emergency Department application, OnRecord(TM) EDIS.
Van Wert County Hospital joins Conway Regional Medical Center, Conway, Arkansas, and Southern New Hampshire Medical Center, Nashua, New Hampshire, in using OnRecord(TM) EDIS daily in their Emergency Departments.
Van Wert County Hospital began using OnRecord(TM) for all of its nurse and triage charting, patient tracking, medication ordering and medication reconciliation in July. The Ohio facility, with just over 15,000 annual ED visits and 99 licensed inpatient beds, is also the smallest of the three hospitals using OnRecord(TM), demonstrating the application's value for Emergency Departments of all sizes. The application is integrated with SMS(R).
"We've seen a tremendous improvement in the nurse documentation already," said Kathy Fisher, Director of Critical Care Services for Van Wert County Hospital. "We wanted better documentation, especially for reimbursement. In addition to better documentation, we're more efficient and with the system's mandatory fields, we're able to meet those governmental documentation issues 100 percent of the time.
"The LOGICARE(R) system helps to guide our assessments based on complaints," Fisher said. "Our ability to customize fields to meet our population is wonderful."
Fisher noted that all staff nurses are using the application for charting and physicians are using it for medication reconciliation.
"We've seen a big difference in cost savings since staff do not have to stay longer to chart," Fisher added. "It really helps push the issue of bedside charting in real time instead of after or later in shift from note pads.
"Staff picked up using OnRecord(TM) quickly," Fisher said. "We look forward to implementing the entire product with physicians."
