Former Bayer Executive and Current Banfield President Succeeds Scott
Campbell, DVM as CEO
PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Effective September 19, 2007, John Payne has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Banfield, The Pet Hospital(R), succeeding veterinary pioneer, Scott Campbell, DVM, who retired as CEO in early July 2007.
After Campbell's retirement this summer, John Payne was appointed President, Chief Operating Officer and Acting CEO at Banfield. Since joining Banfield in 2005, after serving as president for Bayer's Animal Health Division for North America, Payne has held the positions of Senior Vice President of Practice Development and Executive Vice President.

Scott Campbell, DVM, Banfield's Chairman and CEO for 22 years, will continue in the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors. Dr. Campbell will focus on strengthening key industry relationships and advancing the industry's adoption of the American Association of Veterinarian Medical Colleges' Foresight Report recommendations regarding changes in veterinary education, licensing and recruitment.
