Date:3/12/2013

Columbus, OH (PRWEB) March 12, 2013

Ohio Department of Health Director Theodore E. Wymyslo, M. D. and Laura Ritzler, chair of the Healthy Ohio Business Council (HOBC) recognized Lake Shore Cryotronics as a small business Gold Winner for healthy worksite practices for the 2012 Healthy Ohio Healthy Worksite Awards. Lake Shore was one of only three small businesses in the state of Ohio to win the Gold award.

The ninth annual awards recognize Ohio employers who demonstrate a commitment to employee health through comprehensive worksite health promotion and wellness programs. It acknowledges efforts to facilitate and encourage employee health, enhance productivity and ensure a healthy work environment.

“Lake Shore is honored to be recognized as a leading employer. Our employees’ health is important to us. The focus on wellness and overall health benefits also helps us to attract and retain some of the leading researchers and technicians in technology and materials science,” Lake Shore CEO and President Michael Swartz said.

“Employee health and wellness efforts result in major benefits for both employer and employee,” Ritzler agreed.

Lake Shore implements a “Wealth of Health” wellness program that aims to create a culture that fosters healthy lifestyle choices to reduce health risks, improve well-being, and maintain a productive, active workforce. A wellness committee made up of Lake Shore employees organizes a variety of activities throughout the year promoting employee wellness. The company also partners with local parks and recreation organizations for some of its programs.

Lake Shore was awarded the Healthy Ohio Healthy Worksite Bronze Award in 2009, 2010, and 2011.
