Labor Day Event to Offer Angelenos Unique Opportunity to Learn About Healthcare Reform and Send a Strong Message to Washington D.C.!

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- With an estimated 1.6 million Los Angeles County residents living without health insurance, Healthcare Reform is a TOP PRIORITY for the County's working families and a key issue being discussed this Labor Day.

On what is the eve of Congress' return to DC to debate healthcare reform, Angelenos will have the chance to participate in a creative approach to learn more about the importance of healthcare reform and to take action to be heard!

The day's events will kick-off with a PRESS CONFERENCE at 9:30 AM with Congresswoman Judy Chu. After the press conference, attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • Watch FREE showings of Michael Moore's "Sicko" (presented with subtitles)
  • Participate in Post-Screening Discussions with healthcare professionals and special guests
  • Post their "I Got A Story" at the True Healthcare Confessions Cam booth and help make a "25 Reasons for Healthcare Now" video
  • Get Hard Facts and Info about Healthcare Reform
  • Call and Email elected officials at the Healthcare Action Kiosks
  • Hang out at "Healthcare Beach" on the roof with DJs from soul sessions, HVW8, and KCRW's Jeremy Sole
