The decrease in net loss is primarily the result of lower research and development costs, a higher foreign exchange gain and the absence of an impairment loss, which were partially offset by higher selling, general and administrative expenses and lower interest income in the first nine months of fiscal 2009 as compared to the same period the previous year.
